Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge

Annada, MO | 1,000 sq. ft.

Upon entry visitors are introduced to four bird species preparing for their migration
down the great Mississippi River. Guests follow the birds through the exhibit, stopping at scenic pods along the way which represent major Refuge sites in the area. These pods allow visitors to experience various Refuges that are sometimes inaccessible to most people. They highlight each area’s flora and fauna, using a variety of interactives including push-button bird calls, tactile objects on reader rails, a full-size water control structure, and exquisitely detailed reproductions of wildlife.

The ability for guests and school groups to get up close and personal with frogs, dragonflies, cattails, snakes, hawks and more, helps the story of Clarence Cannon Wildlife Refuge truly come alive! Visitors leave with a renewed sense of the great need to protect the land, river, and animals that inhabit the Refuges.
