National Park Service Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Boston, Ohio | 3,500 sq. ft.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s new central visitor center launches visitors out into the cultural and natural resources of the Cuyahoga Valley. Working with a sprawling site and story, big idea thinking helped unify the visitor experience. Our team conceptualized, developed, and focused storytelling on the concept of “Renew”—the transformation of a river and its watershed, as well as the changing lives of those who have called this area home.

Design and planning strike a thoughtful balance of orientation, interpretation, retail, and creative action across two floors of the refurbished historic space and in the public plaza areas. Carefully curated content emerges at high levels and in subtle details, promoting inclusivity among both visitors and park experiences. Close collaboration with the fabricator ensured that we delivered superior results on time and in budget.
