The Design Minds planned and designed new, engaging exhibits focused on the history and changing symbolism of Fort Point. Located underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, Fort Point provided protection for San Francisco and the Bay during the Civil War. Exhibits interpret the fort as an evolving symbol and artistic achievement, while focusing on the various groups of people who have found meaning in the fort. Due to the harsh conditions of the San Francisco Bay and the open nature of the fort, exhibits and audiovisual components had to be carefully planned with weather resistant materials.
