Museum of the Shenandoah Valley: “Becoming Patsy Cline”

Winchester, VA | 2,800 sq. ft.

The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley enlisted The Design Minds to develop a temporary exhibit showcasing the Valley’s own Virginia Patterson Hensley—later known as Patsy Cline. Spread across four gallery spaces, exhibits trace Ginny’s roots in the geographic area that the museum interprets, then follows the carefully curated image of Patsy Cline as it rose to international stardom.

Bold aesthetics and powerful, personal storytelling celebrate Ginny’s life and communicate how, through hard work and a singular vision, she crafted the image of Patsy Cline. Design incorporates both the vibrant colors of mid-20th century pop stardom and the humble, rustic features of the Shenandoah Valley that shaped Virginia Hensley.
